Was it a coincidence that Sophia happened to have moved to St. Louis in 2022, and a stranger she ended up living with was someone with a similar background and of the same age?

We both grew up hopping between Korea and America and experiencing two drastically different cultures. But like many Asian Americans, we both struggled with “not being Korean enough” in Korea and “not being American enough” in America.

Though the way each of us navigated our own journeys looked different, it took us 25 years to embrace the best parts of both of those identities.

Instead of relying on others’ definition of Korean or American, we realized that we need to define that for ourselves.

And this is how we came together and created a Kimchi business that reflects who we are.

We play with cultural elements at Cozy Cabbage, reevaluating what "Korean cuisine” or “American cuisine" means through the traditional yet unconventional Kimchi we offer.
